Dr. Cristy Russo is a neuropsychologist who has worked in a variety of hospital and outpatient settings, including New Orleans Children's Hospital, Mercy Family Center (a Sisters of Mercy Hospital Outpatient Program), Massachusetts General Hospital for Children at NorthShore in Salem, Massachusetts, Nemours Children's Hospital, & Orlando Veterans Healthcare System. She is an Assistant Professor at UCF Medical School and Clinical Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Cristy is the founder of Online Psychology Test an innovative and compassion-focused online testing service. She is also the founder and director of Pawsitive Abilities Wellness Society (PAWS) which is a nonprofit community organization dedicated to meet the needs of Veterans, First Responders, families and children by providing community programs for enhancing human and animal partnerships including trained assistance dogs and ongoing education and support to enhance our community.
She also designed and advocated for the inclusion of animal assisted interventions within the public schools by creating Pawsitive Abilities, from her passion about the collaboration between families, educators, & providers in facilitating a child-centered approach to promoting social, emotional and educational well-being. Since implementation of the pilot program, Osceola County Florida Public Schools have since been able to move forward with their full program EAD Osceola which has grown from 3 dogs in 3 schools to multiple dogs across the county.
